| Christian Mental Health Professional Program: Trauma Recovery Specialist Laura Climie-Wilkerson |
 | Laura Climie-Wilkerson holds a Masters Degree as a Mental Health Professional specializing in Trauma Recovery. Laura taught Early Childhood for 20 years and greatly enjoyed implementing Trauma Informed Care in the classroom. Over the years she fostered a classroom environment of safety and belonging that helped students that struggled behaviorally to enjoy school and develop healthy coping skills for their educational success. Laura has first-hand experience implementing Trauma Informed Parenting in her own home to help both of her children that were diagnosed with C-PTSD. After embracing and seeing the results of a trauma informed home, Laura was drawn to help others heal from their past trauma too. Laura is blessed with opportunities to help many clients heal from domestic violence, sexual assault, unhealthy relationships, childhood trauma, and much more. She had the great honor of working in treatment for adolescent girls recovering from sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Laura is experienced in helping clients overcome suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, self-harm, low self-esteem, and traumatic experiences. Laura is the Founder and Director of Set Free Healing Center; a faith-based counseling center that believes the best way to minister to those in crisis is to show them a loving God that heals. We believe healing the pain from our past gives us the opportunity to live out the Biblical philosophy of Healed People, Heal People. At Set Free Healing Center it is our hope for each client to find healing from their pasts so that they can live a life of freedom. As a Saint James University alumni, Laura is extremely passionate about offering the highest quality education for future Trauma Recovery Specialists. |
